THE BUYER’S GUIDE

A good source starts
with clear requirements.

Bring your technical team’s questions into the conversation. Here are four useful starting points when sourcing flax raw material.

01 / SOURCING CHECK

Fiber & preparation

Identify long fiber or tow, the required preparation and the processing route your mill uses. Local grade names should be clarified in terms your technical team can assess.

02 / SOURCING CHECK

Lot characteristics

Discuss fiber length or distribution, color, moisture, shive and other impurities. Ask which lot-specific measurements and documents are available.

03 / SOURCING CHECK

Sample assessment

If a sample is needed, agree the sampling approach and evaluation criteria before commercial approval. Assess suitability for your own machinery and process.

04 / SOURCING CHECK

Packing & shipment

Confirm packing, weight basis, requested quantity, destination port, shipment timing and the applicable commercial terms with the exporter.
